Enabling PIN Validation

PIN authentication is enabled by default in the application provided a PIN number is provided in Employee Badge. If PIN authentication was previously disabled, follow these steps to enable the feature.

Note: If you enable both PIN and biometric authentication for an employee, the clock will only use biometric authentication for the employee. For this reason, Infor recommends that you only enable one type of authentication in your configuration. For more information on enabling biometric authentication, see Enabling Biometric Validation.

To enable PIN validation:

  1. Select Maintenance > Reader Setup > Readers
  2. Click the Edit link next to the reader.
  3. Deselect the Disable PIN Validation (not selected by default).
  4. Click Save.
  5. Select Maintenance > Employees > Employee Badge
  6. Click the Edit link next to the employee badge.
  7. Enter a PIN for the employee.

    To apply this change to many employees, import the PIN numbers into the employee badge records.

  8. Click Save.
