Entering placeholder badges for employees using Identification mode

The Identification mode feature does not require a badge for clocking but you must still enter a placeholder badge number in the system since this is required by WFM. The placeholder badge for employees using Identification mode can simply be a sequence of unique numbers that corresponds to the server.badge.length configuration in the clock. This configuration is 6 by default for the clock out-of-the-box. For example, in WFM the badge number sequence can range from 000001 to 999999 with a server.badge.length of 6.

Note: When identification mode is enabled and an employee is enabled for biometrics, if the employee's badge number is subsequently changed or if the same badge number is deleted and re-created, the employee's fingerprint must be unenrolled and enrolled again. This is necessary as the original badge number is stored as part of the employee's original fingerprint template. The clock will not identify the employee's fingerprint if this mandatory step is not taken.

For more information on entering badges in WFM at the employee level, see the Infor Workforce Management Time and Attendance Implementation and Administration Guide.
