Using WinSCP

The WinSCP application can be downloaded from http://winscp.net. Download the latest release version available on the website.

Install the application by following the prompts.

To run WinSCP:

  1. Launch the program.
  2. Specify the clock’s IP address in the Host Name field.
  3. Specify root in the User Name field.
  4. Specify the root user’s password in the Password field. The default password is synergy.
  5. Select the SCP option for the protocol.
  6. Click Login.

A file browser is displayed with the contents of the admin user’s home directory on the 8000 in the right pane and the folders of your local system in the left pane.

Common tasks in WinSCP include:

  • Navigating through the files and folders in the same fashion as browsing Windows Explorer.
  • Modifying files by right clicking on the file and selecting Edit from the menu.
  • Saving files by pressing Ctrl + S. WinSCP transfers saved files to the clock. A pop-up temporarily displays a list of the files to be transferred. The files are transferred when the pop-up closes.

  • Rebooting the clock, by pressing Ctrl + T and specifying reboot at the console prompt.
