Creating employee badge numbers

To create employee badge numbers:

Note: Users can also log in to the WFM application, ETM or mobility with a badge number and PIN by enabling the ALLOW_LOGIN_USING_BADGE registry parameter. The standard user and password will continue to work when this registry parameter is enabled. For more information, see the Registry Parameter Reference Guide.
  1. Select Maintenance > Employees > Employee Badge.
  2. Click Create New Entry.
  3. Specify this information:
    Employee
Select the employee from the lookup.
    Badge Number
    Specify the employee’s badge number.

This number must match the stored value of the employee’s physical badge or card. If you are using a PIN entry or biometric clock, this number is still required to identify the employee, but can be any unique number.

The length of the badge number must match the badge length settings of the clock type the employee uses. See the Clock Installation and Configuration Guide.

    PIN
Specify a PIN number for the badge.
    Enable Biometrics
Select the check box to enable biometric validation at the employee level for the 8000 or the 9000 Series clock.

If you are using the Verification option for biometric validation, employees will have to enroll a fingerprint on the clock and then use the fingerprint to validate themselves after providing a badge. The Identification option for biometric validation also requires the employee to enroll a fingerprint and then use the fingerprint to validate themselves. This option does not require a badge at the clock for validation. For more information on enabling these two types of biometric validation, see Adding readers.

For more information on enabling biometrics in your 8000 or 9000 Series clock, see the system administration guide for your clock.

    Enforce Schedule
Select the check box to enable schedule validation at the badge level (employee). In other words, you can enable schedule validation at the clock level and then decide per employee whether they are required to work to a schedule.

This functionality will verify that the employee is scheduled to work at the time of the clock punch. If an employee attempts to punch in when they are not scheduled, the punch is rejected.

    Level
    Select one of these options:
    • Employee: Indicates this employee is not a supervisor.
    • Supervisor: Indicates this employee is a supervisor and can access the Supervisor mode on the clock.
    Sequence Number
