Troubleshooting Error Messages

The following table describes the possible symptoms and solutions to commonly-occurring clock problems:

Symptom Solution
No display on clock.
  • Check the power cord.
  • Press the battery button on the clock. The date and time should appear.

Clock not connecting to the clock server.

  • Make sure the network cable is plugged into the NET port and not into the HOST.

  • Ensure all network settings are correctly entered into the clock.
  • Replace the network cable.
Clock not reading badges.
  • Make sure the barcode is not damaged or faded.
  • Make sure badges are swiped correctly with the barcode facing down and to the right.

  • Try cleaning the reader head with a cotton swab and 95% isopropyl alcohol.

  • Use a can of compressed air to remove dust and dirt from the reader slot.

Buttons not working.
  • Reload the program onto the clock.
