Consistent skill validation across MVS

Skill validation has been updated to ensure a consistent experience across all MVS modules. To assign an employee to a shift in the ASV, STC, RQ, RCA, MR, and OTS, the employee must have all mandatory skills required by the shift. The skills must be in their employee profile and the proficiency level must meet or exceed the required proficiency level for the shift. A warning message is displayed to the scheduler if a mandatory skill requirement is not met, and the assignment is not allowed. Having a non-mandatory skill defined for a shift will produce a warning when an employee does not possess the skill, but the employee can still be assigned to the shift if needed.

Self-Scheduling and Open Shift Billboard use skill requirements to determine if an employee can select an available shift. A shift is only shown to an employee if that employee possesses all the required skills and meets the required proficiency levels. This applies whether the skills are mandatory or non-mandatory.

See "Skills" in the Infor Workforce Management MVS Implementation and Administration Guide for details.
