Managing relief shifts when canceling book offs

When canceling a book off, you can decide how to manage any associated relief shifts that were created to cover the booked off shifts or partial shifts. Relief shifts that have not been filled are deleted when you cancel a book off. For any relief shifts that have already been filled, you must select a relief option. The relief option determines whether to accept the overstaffing that would be caused by having both the original employee and the relief employee assigned to cover what was originally one shift or partial shift.

These options are available to manage filled relief shifts when canceling a book off:

AR Relief
Applies the Action Required (AR) status to a relief shift. The AR status indicates that the shift may cause overstaffing and should be managed through further action. You can use the Relief Queue to decide whether to retain a shift with AR status, which converts it to an ad-hoc shift, or remove it from the schedule. When a shift transaction is performed on a shift with AR status, such as a shift swap or float, the shift is retained and converted to an ad-hoc shift. Shifts in AR status are displayed in orange.
Retain Relief
Keeps the relief shift in the schedule and converts it into an ad-hoc shift.
Cancel Relief (Central Staffing only)
Deletes the relief shift from the schedule.
