Configuring Self-Scheduling

The Self-Scheduling feature takes some of the scheduling work off you as the Unit Manager and Scheduler. As well, this feature offers the employees a sense of autonomy as they can take control of when they work. However, there are stringent rules in place that guide employees as to what can be self-scheduled.

You can allocate the shifts for self-scheduling using the schedule template and generation. After the designated shifts are sent to self-scheduling, the self-scheduling process is configured to control the dates in which employees can log in to ETM and self-schedule. Employees can view their current schedule as part of their shift selection, but cannot remove pre-scheduled shifts using self-scheduling. Shift selections are subjected to schedule compliance rules and minimum and maximum rules.

Users’ shift selections are visible in the schedule view as unpublished shifts. These shifts can be published after being reviewed by scheduling managers.
