Employee wellness check

You can configure WFM to prompt employees to indicate whether they are feeling unwell when they are starting, switching, or resuming work. When the employee wellness check is enabled, a localizable prompt will be presented to eligible employees during ON clock transactions in Mobile WFM and ETM.

By default, the prompt asks employees if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

The list of symptoms was taken from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website on COVID-19 (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html). You can change the default prompt text using localization.

See Localizing the wellness check prompt.

If the employee answers "Yes", the employee will be prohibited from completing the clocking transaction. If the employee answers "No", the clocking process will continue. All employee responses are logged in the WB_SURVEY_PROMPT_RESPONSE table regardless of whether their clocking process finishes.

For eligible employees, the prompt is always displayed after the employee has confirmed that they want to clock ON. The prompt is also displayed for any labor metric clocks configured to be treated as ON clocks using the TREAT_AS_ON parameters in the WFM registry (for example, TREAT_DEPARTMENT_AS_ON). Optionally, you can also configure the system to prompt employees when they clock a time code change.

Note: Employees are not prompted when they clock OFF.
