Creating a new schedule from an existing schedule or a schedule profile

This topic outlines how to create new schedule from an existing schedule or a schedule profile.

Copying a schedule will not only generate workloads from forecast, but also adjust workloads based on budget amounts if Budget Adjusted Workloads (BAW) feature is turned on (via the SO_BUDGET_ADJUSTED_WORKLOAD registry parameter) and 'Use schedule to budget' constraint is turned on in the scheduling rules. New interval requirements are based on BAW.

Note: The initial schedule cannot be a schedule that is created entirely manually. It must have a staff group associated with it, so it must be created with the option to create shifts from shift rules.

To create the new schedule:

  1. Select Scheduling > Schedule Optimization > Schedule > Create A New Schedule.
  2. Specify this information:
    Name
    Name of the schedule.
    Location
    Location of the schedule.
    Start Date
    Start date of the schedule.
  3. If you are creating a schedule from a schedule profile, select the From a profile radio button and select the name of the schedule profile from the From Profile box.
  4. If you are creating a schedule from an existing schedule, select the From existing radio button and select the existing schedule from the From Schedule box.
  5. Select the AutoGen Schedule Name check box if you want to append the text "Copy of " to the existing schedule name when naming the new schedule. For example, if the existing schedule was called "Retail 1", the new generated schedule is named "Copy of Retail 1". With this option, the value you specified in the Name box in the previous step will not be used when naming the new schedule.
  6. Click OK to create the schedule based on either a schedule profile or an existing schedule.

You will get a pop up message stating that an email message will be sent to you when the schedule is created.
