Viewing Historical Changes to Worksheet Data

The application tracks changes to the Master version of the plan. You can view these changes to a generated plan on the History page. These changes occur when you:

  • release or submit the plan
  • locking or unlocking the plan
  • update a plan by importing a new reference budget
  • adding a comment to the plan
  • generating a forecast
  • generating a BUP (bottom-up projection)

Editing values on the Worksheet and regenerating workload occur in the Working version of the plan. Therefore, these changes are not tracked in the Master version and they are not displayed on the History page. After you apply your changes and lock the plan, these changes are applied to the Master version and are displayed on the History page.

You specify the parameters of the historical changes to view, and then the History page is displayed, listing the specified changes.

For bottom-up projections, the History page displays a column group for each column displayed on the Worksheet, starting with Change in. Underneath, the Previous and Current columns display the value of the data before and after the change.

When the Master version changes, the application tracks the following information in the following columns:

Column Description
Location The location for which the change occurred.
Date The date and time when any changes occurred.
Time Period The time period for which the data was modified.
User The name of the user who caused the changes.
Actual User The name of the actual user who caused the changes. If a proxy user caused this change, this is the proxy's user name. Otherwise, this is the same user name as in the User column.
Details: State Change The previous and updated state for the changed location. For example, InitialRelease and Pending, or Pending and Submitted.
Details: other columns The previous and updated data for any changed columns.
