Renaming a Labor Budgeting Location Type

You can rename a default Labor Budgeting location type. For example, you can rename the DEPARTMENT location type to RESTAURANT.

  1. Select Maintenance > Optional Modules > Labor Budgeting > Labor Budgeting Settings > Labor Budgeting Location Types.
The Labor Budgeting Location Types page is displayed.
  2. Click the Edit link for the location type to rename.
The Labor Budgeting Location Types Detail page is displayed.
  3. In the Name column, specify the new name for the location type.
  4. Click Save.
  5. If any of the following registry parameters has a value that is the renamed location type, then you must update the value to the new location type name:
    • LOC_TYPE_CAN_EXPORT
    • LOC_TYPE_CAN_PRINT
    • LOC_TYPE_CAN_PUBLISH
    • MASS_EDIT_LOC_TYPES
    • MASS_RELEASE_LOC_TYPES
    • REGENERATE_WORKLOAD_LOC_TYPES
    • ROOT_LOCATION_TYPE_NAME
    • SYNC_ACTION_LOC_TYPES

For example, suppose that the LOC_TYPE_CAN_PRINT registry parameter is set to DEPARTMENT, so that department budget managers can print data on the Worksheet. If you rename DEPARTMENT to RESTAURANT, then you must change the value of this registry parameter from DEPARTMENT to RESTAURANT.

For instructions on editing registry parameters, see the Infor WFM Registry Parameter Reference Guide.

  6. If you are using the solicitation process, you should rename the due dates that correspond to renamed location type. For example, if you rename STORE to RESTAURANT, then you should change STORE DUE DATE to RESTAURANT DUE DATE.
    1. Select Maintenance > Optional Modules > Labor Budgeting > Labor Budgeting Settings > Attributes.
    2. Click the Edit link for the due date to rename.
    3. Rename the due date.
    4. Click Save.
  7. If the GROUPING parameter of any of these execution groups has a value that is the renamed location type, then you must update the value to the new location type name:

For example, suppose that for the DEFAULT LOCK EXEC GRP execution group, one of the values of the GROUPING parameter is DEPARTMENT. If you rename DEPARTMENT to RESTAURANT, then you must change the value of this parameter from DEPARTMENT to RESTAURANT.

For instructions on editing execution groups, see Configuring Rule Groups, Execution Groups, and Rules.

  8. If the LocationTypes parameter of any of the following rules has a value that is the renamed location type, then you must update the value to the new location type name:

For example, suppose that for the WORKLOAD GENERATION RULE, one of the values of the LocationTypes parameter is DEPARTMENT. If you rename DEPARTMENT to RESTAURANT, then you must change the value of this parameter from DEPARTMENT to RESTAURANT.

For instructions on editing rules, see Configuring Rule Groups, Execution Groups, and Rules.

  9. If you are using the Budget Adjusted Trend forecast method or a bottom-up forecast method, and if the forecastStartLevel forecast-method parameter has a value that is the renamed location type, then you must update the value to the new location type name.

For example, suppose that for your forecast method, the values of the forecastStartLevel parameter is STORE. If you rename STORE to RESTAURANT, then you must change the value of this parameter from STORE to RESTAURANT.

For instructions on editing forecast-method parameters and a description of the forecastStartLevel forecast-method parameter, see Forecast-Method Parameters.
