Authorizing violations

When an employee triggers a violation, their supervisor receives a Workmail notification. The notification informs the supervisor that the employee triggered a violation that the supervisor must authorize before it can be processed by the system. Supervisors must complete the Attendance Control Authorization Form to authorize each violation.

  1. Select Messages.
  2. Click the link in the From column corresponding to the Attendance Management violation message.
  3. Click the Click here to open Attendance Control Authorization Form link.
From the Attendance Control Authorization Form, you can authorize or reject the violations that are displayed in the drop-down list.
  4. Select the violation that you want to authorize using the Violation drop-down list. This information is displayed for each violation in the list: violation number, employee who triggered the violation, violation name, and date the violation occurred.
The Related Events drop-down list shows the events that are associated with the violation that you selected in the previous field. This information is displayed for each event from the list: event number, employee who triggered the event, event name, and date the event occurred.

Selecting an event from the Related Events list does not perform an action. The information that is displayed in this list identifies the events that triggered the violation.

  5. Select the date that the employee was notified of the violation using the Date Emp. Notified lookup.
  6. Specify the employee’s reason for the violation in the Employee Reason field.
  7. Specify comments, as required, in the Supervisor Notes field.
  8. Do one of these:
    • Select Yes from the Authorize Selected Violation? drop-down list to authorize the violation. Workforce Management processes the violation and its associated action is triggered in the workflow.
    • Select No from the Authorize Selected Violation? drop-down list to reject the violation. Workforce Management processes the violation, but does not trigger its associated action. The violation does not reappear in your Inbox.
Note: All violations that have not been processed by the system (still Pending) and that belong to employees whom you supervise are displayed in the Violation drop-down list. Ensure that you select the correct violation that you want to authorize from this list.
  9. Click Submit to process the form.
A message is displayed in your Workmail Inbox notifying you that the authorization was processed and that the status of the violation has changed from Pending to Processed.
Note: You can also submit an Attendance Control Authorization Form from the Forms page. To access the form from the Forms page, select this menu path:
