    Group Name

    Group Description
A text description of the rule group.
    Location
The team or teams that you want to schedule using Auto-Assignment.
Note: This field controls the teams that can use this Auto-Assignment group to generate schedules. It does not control the selection of employees to be assigned by a particular Auto-Assignment run, as this is controlled by the filter selection.
    Include sub-teams
Select to include your team's sub-teams in the Auto-Assignment process.
    Effective Start Date
The date when the rule group is available. Select a date from the calendar.
    Effective End Date
The date when the rule group is not available. Select a date from the calendar.
    Is Enabled
Select to specify that the rule group is ready to use. Clear this check box to make the rule group unavailable for Auto-Assignment.
    Off Shift Type(s)
Optionally, if you are implementing Auto-Assignment for MVS, you can specify shift types that are treated as days off for this rule group.
See Setting shift types as days off in Auto-Assignment.
    Excluded Leave Time Code
Specify any leave time codes to be excluded in rule calculations.
    See Excluded leave time codes.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click the Filters tab.
    1. Select one of these filters in the Add Filter field.
      • Employee Job Filter - Filters employees based on jobs.
      • Employee Team Filter - Filters employees based on teams.
      • Employee Flag Filter - Filters employees based on the value of employee flags.
You can use these filters individually or together in combination. Note that combinations can become too complicated to produce shift assignments.
      Note:
      • If you pair two Employee Job Filter selections in one filter, Auto-Assignment searches for employees with one or the other jobs, not both jobs. For example, if you pair RN and Clerk jobs in one filter, Auto-Assignment searches for employees with RN or Clerk jobs.
      • If you create two filters with 2 different Employee Job Filter selections, Auto-Assignment searches for employees with both jobs. For example, if you create a filter for the RN job and a filter for the Clerk job, Auto-Assignment searches for employees with both the RN and Clerk jobs.
      • Employee flags used for Auto-Assignment filters must be configured to use the CheckboxUI type. The Employee Flag Filter searches for either employees for whom the flag is selected or for whom the flag is not selected.
    2. Click Add Filter.
The Filter Details pane is displayed below the list of filters.
    3. Specify a name for your new filter in the Label field.
    4. Specify the team, job, or flag value that the filter uses to select employees.
    5. Click Save.
Your new filter is added to the list in the Filters pane.
    6. Repeat these steps for any additional filters that are required.
