Directionless Swipe Configuration
The 9000 supports directionless swipes, which are swipes that are interpreted by the application as either IN or OUT clock punches. The clock punch is based on the order in which they occur. The first directionless swipe type for a shift is considered an IN clock punch. The next swipe type is an OUT clock punch. The swipe types alternate when more than a pair of directionless swipe types is received.
Note: A directionless swipe
configuration should not be used with time approval. With a directionless swipe
configuration, time approval cannot be displayed on the clock until swipes have been
sent to the WFM application to determine if the swipe is IN or OUT. For this reason,
time approval cannot be presented to the user at the clock with a directionless swipe
configuration. For more information on time approval, see Using Time Approval.
To configure Directionless swipes on an existing
clock: - Log in to the WFM application.
- Select .
- Search for the reader that corresponds to the clock.
- Select the Edit link.
- Select Directionless for the Swipe Method.
- Click Save.
Once the database update process on the clock executes all future clocks will be treated as directionless swipes, and processed accordingly by the clock-processing task.
