GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) support for the 8000 Series clock

The 8000 Series clock is capable of supporting GPRS for mobile communications. You will need the APN information from your mobile communications provider to enable this support.

You should also note the following about GPRS support for the 8000 Series clock:

  • The GPRS hardware is optional and must be purchased for this feature to be available.
  • The configuration steps are manual steps and require the use of PuTTY and SSH access to the clock.
  • APN information is required from your mobile communications provider.
  • The configuration steps can also be done by the clock vendor (Synel) if the APN information is provided to the vendor during the purchase of the clocks.
