Configuring custom prompts

The new custom prompt framework provides a more flexible way to create prompts that allow you to prompt and capture responses from employees. You can also link multiple prompts and display additional prompts based on conditional responses.

The custom prompt framework is a toolkit that allows you to address more complex business requirements.

For example, the custom prompt framework now allows you to:

  • Control what happens when a transaction times out or is cancelled.
  • Determine whether the initiating swipe of a transaction is recorded or not.
  • Capture multiple pieces of information from the user and control what happens next based on that information.
  • Chain multiple prompts together to capture information for more complex scenarios.
  • Provide direction or guidance to employees based on captured information.
Note: After a user successfully authenticates (badge, badge + PIN, badge + biometric (verification) or biometric (identification), the punch entered by the employee is not validated (for example, with schedule validation) until the user goes through all of the custom prompts that you have configured in your clock.

For an example outlining some of the advanced features of the custom prompt framework, see Configuring an advanced custom prompt .
