Vacation Planning Balance*

Select the balance to use for vacation planning to determine the amount available for the employee. The effective date for calculating the employee’s balance is the first day of the vacation planning period. This balance applies only to vacation planning and does not apply to normal time-off requests throughout the year.

The balance type, in days or weeks, depends on the preferences submitted by the employee. For example, employees can usually request time off in hours for one or two days. However for vacation planning, employees might not know the exact schedule because they request days or weeks off in advance.

The effective date for retrieving the employee's balance is the first day of the vacation planning period.

Vacation planning balance is loaded on the first day of the vacation planning period. Alternatively, an accrual can update the balance to ensure accuracy. You can modify the balance to increase or reduce the amount available for vacation planning purposes.

Specify the start of the week. If you do not specify a start day, the system's day start as defined in the DAY_WEEK_STARTS registry parameter is used.
