Defining the Timesheet Lockdown Task

If you specify a timesheet lockout date for a pay group on the Pay Group form, the Timesheet Lockdown Task must be configured.

See Creating or editing pay groups.

The timesheet lockout temporarily prevents users from editing the current pay period. The Timesheet Lockdown Task must be configured to run on or after the lockout date and time specified for the pay group, in order to move the lockout date to the end of the pay period.

  1. Select Maintenance > System Administration > Job Scheduler.
  2. Locate the Timesheet Lockdown Task in the task list of the Task Schedules page.
  3. Click Parameters.
  4. On the Timesheet Lockdown Task Parameters page, select one or more pay groups in the Pay groups to lock down field to lock their timesheets.
  5. In Lockdown Type, select one of these options:
    Timesheet Lockdown

Updates the Timesheet Lockdown Date for the selected pay groups.

Employees in these pay groups cannot edit their timesheets on and before the Timesheet Lockdown Date unless they have the appropriate override privilege.

See the information about Lock Down Priv in Creating security groups from scratch.

    Employee Timesheet Lockdown

Updates the Employee Timesheet Lockdown Date for the selected pay groups.

Employees in these pay groups cannot edit their own timesheets on and before the Employee Timesheet Lockdown Date. Supervisors and managers can still edit and approve timesheets based on their security permissions.

Both Timesheet and Employee Timesheet Lockdown

Updates both the Timesheet Lockdown Date and the Employee Timesheet Lockdown Date for the selected pay groups in a single task run.

This option enforces the standard lockdown rules for both employees and supervisors, according to each date.

If the organization is using both the Timesheeet Lockdown Date, and the Employee Lockdown Date, and the dates should be updated at two different times, for example, employees are locked out on Saturday, and Supervisors are locked out on Sunday, then the task should be created twice, once for employee lock down date on Saturday, and once for timesheet lock down on Monday.

  6. Click Save.
