Defining labor metric elements

The application consists of these labor metric tables:

  • Department
  • Job
  • Project
  • Docket
  • Location

Department and Job groups are typically defined to match the respective Department and Job elements in the company.

While employees are usually linked to one specific job for a long period of time, intermittent job changes may occur based on the company’s production needs. Additionally, employee workdays may be allocated across multiple projects. In such cases, both Project and Job groups would need to be created as labor metric elements.

The Docket group measures employee production quantity. These measurements can include standard quantity, standard time, machine parts, and part numbers. Dockets are often tracked within incentive pay or production monitoring systems.

The Location group captures the physical or organizational location to which an employee's time is charged. Location data can be maintained manually or synchronized from an external HR system such as Infor HR Talent. Locations use start and end dates to indicate when they are active and are available in lookups only when active.
