Advanced Forecasting overview
The Advanced Forecasting feature enables users to understand their future workload by turning historical operational data into actionable demand forecasts. Using the Advanced Forecasting engine, teams can review forecast results, make informed adjustments, and translate forecasts into workload data that supports accurate scheduling and staffing decisions.
In a planning cycle, a scheduler or workforce planner reviews forecasted demand for an upcoming period to understand how workload is expected to change across days and time intervals. The forecasting results provide visibility into patterns and trends, enabling planners to validate assumptions, compare forecasts against historical values, and refine results when required.
- View forecast status and results for supported teams
- Analyze forecast data using charts or tables
- Compare forecasted values with current or prior-year data
- Rerun forecasts when updated historical data is imported
- Apply controlled adjustments to forecast results
Forecasts are also used for workload generation. When staffing requirements are configured and linked to forecast, workload data is created automatically or generated manually as required. This workload data represents demand in 15-minute intervals and is used in schedule planning to ensure staffing levels match with forecasted demand.
Using combined automated forecasting with user insight and adjustment, the Advanced Forecasting engine supports users to create more informed planning decisions. This helps teams respond effectively to changing demand.
