EDLA and break time

By default, scheduled break time is not included in EDLA percentage calculations. The break duration is subtracted from the total scheduled time before determining allocation thresholds. For example, when an employee works through a scheduled break, that break time is assigned to the primary EDLA record unless the EDLA_BREAK_LOGIC registry parameter is configured to include or split break time.

You can change the values of the EDLA_BREAK_LOGIC registry parameter to set how breaks are handled:
  • DISCOUNT (default): Break time is not included in the overall schedule duration.
  • INCLUDE: Break time is included when calculating the scheduled time or duration.
  • SPLIT: Break time is divided according to the EDLA ratios.

See the Infor Workforce Management User and Administration Library (Multi-tenant) and select Administrator > Registry Parameters > Time and Attendance Registry Parameters > EDLA_BREAK_LOGIC.

For example, an employee is scheduled to work from 08:30 AM to 5:00 PM with a 30-minute break. This scheduled shift has 480 minutes of eligible EDLA time, which is split evenly between two EDLA records, with 240 minutes allocated to each in a 50/50 split. By default, break work details are assigned to the primary EDLA record. When the EDLA_BREAK_LOGIC registry parameter is configured to INCLUDE or SPLIT, break time may be included in EDLA calculations split proportionally respectively.
