Time worked within the scheduled shift

When time is recorded within the scheduled shift, EDLA allocates non-break time according to the percentages defined on the employee’s EDLA records. This logic applies consistently, regardless of whether the employee works the full shift or only partial shift.

This table shows how EDLA percentage logic is applied when an employee records time within their scheduled shift:
Scenario Description Result
The employee works the full duration of their scheduled shift. The employee is scheduled to work from 08:30 to 17:00 with a 30-minute unpaid break. Their EDLA configuration includes two default labor records that are evenly split, with 50% allocated to Job A (Butcher) and 50% allocated to Job B (Cashier). EDLA does not include the break time and allocates 8 hours of non-break time evenly, with 4 hours assigned to Job A and 4 hours assigned to Job B.

Break records are handled separately and is not included in EDLA percentage calculations by default.

The employee works only a portion of their scheduled shift. The employee clocks in from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM during a scheduled 08:30 AM to 5:00 PM shift. EDLA evaluates the entire scheduled window rather than the actual worked duration. Allocation depends on where the worked time falls within the schedule, which can result in summarized labor distributions that are not an even 50/50 split.
