Time worked outside scheduled shifts

By default, any time worked outside the scheduled shift is assigned to the primary EDLA record, unless the time worked outside begins at the exact moment the scheduled shift ends.

This table shows how labor metrics are applied when work occurs outside the scheduled shift:
Scenario Description Result
The employee worked all time outside of their scheduled shift. The employee works only after their scheduled end time, with no work recorded during the scheduled shift window. All worked time is allocated to the employee’s primary EDLA record, which is the first row listed on the Employee Labor Allocation page. EDLA percentages are not evaluated in this scenario.
The employee worked within and outside their scheduled shift on the same day. The employee arrives early before the scheduled shift or remains working after the scheduled end time, creating work details that extend beyond the scheduled window. Time recorded within the scheduled shift follows EDLA percentage logic. Time recorded outside the schedule inherits labor metrics from the adjacent work detail at the boundary of the shift.

Time recorded before the scheduled shift uses the primary EDLA assignment. Time recorded after the scheduled shift continues using the labor metrics from the end of the scheduled shift, as long as there is no gap between work details.
