Display earn codes in the timesheet

After you configure earn codes and mappings, you can display the resulting earn code on timesheets as a read-only field. This helps supervisors and administrators verify which earn codes are associated to time codes, hour types, and labor metrics directly in the timesheet.

See Using config mode.

Timesheet behavior

When you enable the Earn Code field on eligible timesheets:

  • The Earn Code field appears as a field after the Hour Type column.
  • The Earn Code field is read-only and derived from earn code mappings; it cannot be edited or manually overridden in the timesheet.
  • If no mapping exists for the combination of time code, hour type, and labor metrics on a row, the Earn Code column displays nothing for that row.
  • Blank fields in a mapping act as wildcards. For example, if a mapping is defined for Time Code WRK and Hour Type is blank, then any record with Time Code WRK and any Hour Type can match this mapping.

Supported timesheet views

This table shows the timesheet-related views where the Earn Code field is displayed:

Field Description
Daily Timesheet (DTS)
  • Earn Code is displayed after Hour Type on Details and Premiums rows.
  • Earn Code is read-only.
Supervisor Approval
  • Earn Code displays the same way as in the underlying daily timesheet.
  • This view is read-only and used for review and approval.
Supervisor Summary
  • Earn Code appears as part of the details shown in the summary view.
  • Earn Code is read-only.
SSP Timesheets
  • Earn Code appears after Hour Type in both SSP timesheet variants on Details and Premiums.
  • Earn Code is read-only.
Weekly Timesheet (WTS)
  • Earn Code is not displayed.
  • Weekly Timesheet shows overrides, not underlying work details, so earn code mapping does not apply here.

You enable or hide the Earn Code field in timesheet display configuration. When the field is disabled, the timesheet does not display the Earn Code column, but earn code mappings can still be used for payroll export.
