Message routing rules
Message routing rules define how form or interaction messages are routed to recipients for approval and processing.
Routing rules allow administrators to configure recipients based on employee attributes such as team, job, and employee ID. Multiple recipient levels can be defined to support escalation workflows. If no routing rule applies, the default message routing logic is used instead.
Note: Message routing is currently available only in the time off module
Each routing rule supports multiple recipient levels, where each level represents a recipient in the routing chain. Each recipient can have one or more Workbrain roles assigned.
This table shows the sender criteria that defines the employees to whom the routing rule applies:
| Criteria | Description |
|---|---|
| Team | Specify one or more of the employee's home teams. |
| Job | Specify one or more of the employee's preferred job. |
| Employee | Specify one or more employee IDs or names. |
| Functional group | Specify one or more groups to which the rule applies. This is a required field. |
Note:
If both the Team and Job criteria are specified, only employees who belong to the selected team and are assigned to the selected job match the rule.
If both the Employee and Team criteria are specified, employees selected in the Employee criteria and employees who belong to the selected Team criteria match the rule.
