You can control which unassigned shifts are included in the Staffing Requirements Generation Details section, in the Include existing unassigned shifts for Auto-Assignment field.

You can use Create Unassigned Shifts Only on its own or both Create Unassigned Shifts Only and Include existing unassigned shifts for Auto-Assignment simultaneously. - Use existing workload requirement- Select this option to generate a shifts based on the team's existing workload requirements. Before using this option, you must have generated workloads from forecasts, import, or manual creation.

Select this check box to generate unassigned shifts and leave the shifts on the team's schedule instead of assigning them to employees.
When this check box is selected, optimization is used, where applicable, to determine which shifts to create. These shifts are not assigned to employees.
When this check box is cleared, shifts are generated and assigned to employees using Auto-Assignment.
Before unassigned shifts are created, the system checks for existing unassigned shifts in the team. If there are unassigned shifts that exactly match the shift label, shift attributes, job, job association, and job pair, those shifts are considered as duplicates and are skipped.
This check box is available when you select Use regular shift templates, Use staffing requirements minimum, or Use existing workload requirement in Staffing Requirement Generation Option.
- Include existing unassigned shifts for Auto-Assignment
-
Select existing unassigned shifts from Rotation, Non-rotation, or Both to include in the auto-assignment process.
When you select Rotation, unassigned shifts created from Master Rotations or One -time Schedules are included.
When Include existing unassigned shifts for Auto-Assignment is configured together with generation options such as Use staffing requirements minimum, User existing workload requirement, or Use regular shift templates, selected existing unassigned shifts are considered. Then, additional shifts are generated and assigned to meet the requirements.
This field is available when you select Use regular shift templates, Use existing unassigned shifts, Use Staffing requirements minimum, or Use existing workload requirement in Staffing Requirement Generation Option.
For Use regular shift templates, you can use this field or Create Unassigned Shifts Only, but not both fields simultaneously
- Template*
- Select the shift template used in shift generation. This field is required if you selected Use regular shift templates or Use replacement shift templates in the Staffing Requirement Generation Option. The available templates are filtered by the selected teams, date range, and template type. If a selected template is expired for the scheduling period when the job runs, an error is returned so you can correct the configuration.
