Adding shifts

As of the 2026.01 release, you can add shifts in Central Staffing for any job that exists for the loaded teams on a specific day, even if the job was not originally scheduled for that day. Both Creating Shifts and Adding Shifts support ad-hoc staffing needs. However creating shifts was previously restricted to jobs and units displayed in the Schedule Zone. The Add Shift feature removes this restriction by enabling shifts for any job associated with the loaded teams.

  1. Load a schedule. The Add Shift button is not available if there are no units loaded.
  2. Select Add Shift.
  3. Specify this information:
    Date
    Specify the same schedule date currently loaded in Central Staffing.
    Team
    Select a team. You can only select from teams loaded into Central Staffing.
    Job
    Select a job. You can only select from jobs associated with the selected team.
    Employee
    Select an employee for the shift
    Shift Label
    Specify the shift label.
    Number of Shifts
    Specify the number of shifts to add.
  4. Click Submit.
