Row addition

You can add rows to a Master Rotation (MR) or One-time Schedule (OTS) to include additional employees and reflect organizational changes.

Adding rows in MR

In an MR with DRAFT status, new rows are created beginning on the MR start date. After the MR is activated, rows are added through row edit mode. New rows are created for a specified effective date range as part of a new bulk version. These rows must be activated before employees are assigned to them.

When a new row is added through edit mode, row rank data is automatically maintained in sequential order. This prevents processing conflicts and ensures that the new row is saved successfully.

Note: For rotation imports, row ranks must be sequential. During the initial import, ranks must start at 1 and continue without gaps. If non-sequential ranks are detected, the import is rejected and an error message identifies the missing rank.

During re-imports, new row ranks are validated to ensure they begin with the next available rank after the highest existing rank and continue sequentially. If gaps are detected, the import is rejected and the expected rank value is identified in the error message.

Adding rows in OTS

In an OTS rotation, new rows are added for the entire schedule period. In an OTS template, new rows are added through row editing mode as part of a new bulk row version for the specified effective date range. After the new rows are activated, they are included in future OTS schedules generated from the OTS template. The effective start date of the new rows must occur after the end date of the last processed OTS generated from the template.

The initially loaded OTS date is displayed on the Add Row screen. When an employee is assigned to a row in an OTS schedule that uses a template, the end date defined in the template is applied. If the OTS schedule does not use a template, the default end date of 01/01/3000 is used.
