Shift inheritance

Sub-teams can inherit shifts from their parent team when the Apply to Sub-teams? check box is selected during shift configuration. If this option is enabled, all existing sub-teams automatically receive the shift. However, newly created sub-teams do not inherit these shifts by default; they must be manually selected to do so.

Note: Even if the check box is selected, shifts created through an import are not automatically inherited by either existing or new sub-teams.

After a shift has been inherited, sub-teams have the flexibility to adapt it to their scheduling requirements. Users can adjust the subscription dates to determine when the shift is available, modify coverage to suit different day parts, or clone the inherited shift to create a version tailored specifically for their sub-teams.

To avoid errors when applying inheritance, users must maintain consistency between theApply to Sub-teams? check box and the Subscription Dates field. For example, if you select the check box to apply a shift to sub-teams, you must also provide valid subscription dates to ensure the configuration works correctly.
