Configuring Volume Copy Override

A Volume Copy Override rule is a Labor Productivity configuration that defines how imported procedure volume is redistributed from a source team to one or more target teams using a weight (multiplier) and is effective only within its date range.

During aggregate processing, when this rule is applied, the redistributed volume is included in the target team’s aggregate calculations without double-counting. Any changes to these rules, such as adding, updating, or removing, are reflected in the next aggregate run and recorded through standard maintenance-form auditing.

  1. From the homepage, select Maintenance > Optional Modules > Productivity Reporting Setup > Procedure Setup.
  2. Select Volume Copy Override Configuration.
  3. Click Create New Entry.
  4. Specify this information:
    Source Team
Specify the originating team that the imported procedure volume is initially associated with.

Volume is copied from this team when the rule applies.

    Procedure Code
Specify the procedure identifier that represents the type of work or service whose volume is being redistributed.
    Target Team

Specify the team that must receive a share of the imported procedure volume for productivity calculations.

This must be different from the Source Team.

    Multiplier
Provide a positive decimal value to determine how much volume is copied to the target team (Distributed volume = Original volume × Multiplier).
    Active

Select this check box to enable the volume copy override rule.

When cleared, the rule is disabled and ignored during aggregate processing.

    Effective Start Date

Specify the start date of the rule’s effective period. If no date is specified, the default effective date range of 1/1/1900–1/1/3000 is used.

Note: If there is an existing rule for the same Source Team, Procedure Code, and Target Team, and the Effective Start Date is not specified, an error is displayed and requires you to specify the start date.
    Effective End Date
Specify the end date of the rule’s effective period.
  5. Click Save.
To maintain data integrity, duplicate rules with overlapping effective dates for the same source team, procedure code, and target team are prevented. Date-chaining is enforced to ensure that only one rule is active at any given time for each combination.
