Update Target types

For each update process, identify the target range of the update. This section describes the concept of each target type. Configuration details for target types are provided in the Deployment section of Webservice and Restful Updates.

To All Readers

Applies the configured update to all clocks that connect to the WFM environment.

To Readers Grouped by Software Update Type

Applies the configured update to a group of clocks. This list shows how the Groups are defined:

  • For Webservice: wbsynch.softwareupdates.type in settings.conf
  • For Restful: Update group in the Readers maintenance form

To Individual Reader

Updates specific clocks based on Reader Name Adding clock readers

Update Group interface

To create an Update Group or view the readers configured to be included in an Update Group, select Maintenance > Reader Setup > Clock Update Management > Update Group tab.

The Update Group tab consists of two sections:

List view
  • Search: Filters update groups by Name. Filtering by description is not supported.
  • Sort: Sorts update groups by name in ascending or descending order.
  • New Group: Starts the process of creating a new update group.
  • Update Group list: Displays all existing update groups.
Data view
  • Displays the Readers and Reader Types assigned to the selected update group.
  • If no reader is assigned to the update group, you’ll be prompted to assign one.
