Configuration update

Configuration updates let you apply custom settings or localizations to the clock to meet your business requirements. Some artifacts can be applied as deltas (changes) to existing configuration files, while others have to be applied as a full replacement of the existing file.

This list shows where you can source configuration update artifacts:
  • Clock file system: Files are located in /home/admin/wbcs/conf/.

    See Using WinSCP.

  • Application update package: Use a package that matches the clock type. For example, 8000 series, and the application version of the update target.

Accepted artifacts:

  • settings.conf – File Delta: Contains functional configurations for the clock.
  • clock.xml – Full File: Contains the user interface configurations for the clock, and the custom prompts associated with clock swipes.
  • Clock_[language].properties, settings_[language].properties – File Delta: Contains the localizations for the clock.
Note:
  • Configuration files can change in structure or field names with each Application Update. Use only the configuration artifacts included in the application package that match the version of the targeted clock.
  • Each time you update the application, any configuration changes you've made will be restored to their default settings. Reapply any required configuration updates to meet your business requirements.
