Simple Rotation bids
Simple Rotation is a predefined, repeating work schedule assigned to a specific team and job. Instead of bidding on individual daily shifts, employees bid on a rotation pattern, which they then follow on a repeating cycle for the entire schedule period.
When the bid window opens, eligible employees can view all available Simple Rotations for their team and job. They submit their preferences by selecting the rotation they prefer to work. Bids are evaluated, rotation capacity limits are applied, and employees are assigned to Simple Rotations according to the configured rules, such as priority or seniority.
For simple rotations in sequential mode, two bidding methods are available:
- Direct bidding
Employees bid during their assigned bid window by selecting the rotation they prefer to work. Direct bids take precedence over preference-based bids. If an employee submits a direct bid during their bid window, the direct bid is awarded, and their ranked preferences are not considered.
- Preference-based bidding
Employees save and rank their preferred rotations before their assigned bidding window opens. Instead of placing bids during the active bidding window, employees submit their rotation preferences in advance.
They can add, remove, or update their saved preferences at any time before the bidding window begins. If an employee does not submit a direct bid during the bidding window, the highest-ranked available rotation from the saved preferences is automatically awarded.
If none of the saved rotation preferences are available when the bidding window closes, a message displays on the Active Bidding screen prompting the employee to submit a direct bid. If the employee does not submit a direct bid, a missed bid notification is issued.
