Generating a schedule
- Select Scheduling > Multi-view Scheduler > Schedule Template > Generate Schedule.
- On the Unit tab, specify this information:
- Unit
- Select a unit to generate a schedule. To select multiple units, select the check box for each unit.
- Include Sub Units
- Select this check box to include subunits associated with the selected units. Selecting multiple units automatically disables the Include Sub Units check box.
- Calendar-based generation
-
Select this check box to generate schedules based on calendar dates instead of always starting from Day 1 of the selected template.
When selected, template days are aligned with actual calendar dates based on the template’s effective start date, ensuring accurate results for mid-template and date-specific schedules. Otherwise, generation always starts from Day 1.
- Generation Dates
- To set the schedule time period, select a value in the Schedule Period field or manually specify the dates in the Start & End Dates field.
- If you select a value in the Schedule Period field, you can allocate only one schedule to a process at a time.
Note: To display all available schedule periods, including the current date, the selected units must have the same schedule period. - Click Next.
- On the Templates tab, perform one of these options:
- Select an SRT from the options listed under Staffing Requirement Template.
- Select an ST from the options listed under Shift Templates.
You can select both an SRT and an ST from the available options.
- Click Next.
- On the Generate tab, select one or more generation options to determine the schedule data to create.
- Generate Workload replace previous workload
- Replaces previously generated workload for the selected schedule period with the workload generated during the current process.
- Generate Workload based on Staffing Requirements
-
Generates workload requirements from the selected SRT.
The generated workload can be used for coverage calculations and schedule planning.
- Generate Unassigned Shifts
- Generates unassigned shifts from the selected ST.
- Select how to generate the shifts:
- Send to Relief Queue: Sends the generated shifts to the Relief Queue for assignment.
- Create as unpublished shifts: Creates the generated shifts as unpublished shifts in the schedule.
Note: Regenerating a shift template with the Send to Relief Queue option generates an additional copy of all the shifts defined in the template. Regenerating with the Create as unpublished shifts option replaces any shifts that may have been deleted since the shift template was originally generated. - Click Generate.
- Click Ok.
