Open Shift Manager Integration

Open Shift Manager (OSM) is the central workspace for viewing and managing open shifts. From OSM, you can monitor shift status, post shifts to the billboard, and oversee the fill process. With Open Shift Automation (OSA), you can automate the processing of eligible shifts through configured automation flows, reducing the requirement for manual intervention.

The OSA and OSM integration provides visibility into automation activity directly within the OSM interface. When a shift is managed by an OSA flow, you can view the active flow, track the shift's current stage, and review the history of automated actions performed on the shift. This visibility helps you stay informed and maintain control throughout the process. If required, you can still intervene at any time by holding or releasing a shift, even while automation is running in the background.

Automation History

The Automation tab displays OSA-related information for an open shift directly within OSM. It displays:

  • Current node information — the step the shift is currently at within its active OSA flow (For example, Billboard, Broadcast, or Hold)
  • History in OSA — a chronological log of all automated actions taken on that shift, including what happened at each node, when it happened, and the outcome

This tab provides a full audit trail of the shift's automation journey, including manual actions such as Release Hold and who performed them, without having to leave OSM or cross-reference the OSA configuration screen.

Release open shifts from OSA Hold

You can manually release open shifts that are currently on an OSA Hold from the OSM page through the Release Hold button. This action is available only for open shifts that are held by an OSA Hold node.

When a released shift belongs to a group of held shifts, OSA releases all shifts in the group as a single operation. If the shift is not grouped with other shifts, only the selected shift is released. Shifts that are no longer part of the group are not affected by the release.

OSA records each manual release in the shift's Automation History in OSM, including the user who performed the release.
