Alternate home team behavior in Master Rotation and One-time Schedule
When dual team hierarchy is enabled and the Include Alternate Team check box is selected during rotation creation, employee inclusion is expanded to cover both home team and alternate home team assignments. These examples describe the expected behavior in key scenarios.
Individual employees lookup with alternate home team
When you select the Include Alternate Team check box in Master Rotation or One-time schedule, the Individual Employees list under Assign Staff displays a Team column. This column shows that team name where each employee is marked as a home team or alternate home team member of the selected team.
An employee who belongs to the selected team as both a home team and an alternate team member appears twice in the list, once for each team association.
- Home Team: CARDIO
- Alternate Home Team: Neurology
When you create a master rotation for the Neurology team with the Include Alternate Team check box selected, the Individual Employees list displays employee 3156 twice. One for Neurology as the alternate home team, and one for CARDIO as the home team.
When the Include Alternate Team is not selected, the Individual Employees list only displays employee 3156 once with the team name CARDIO.
Shift gaps after publishing
When you create non-overlapping shifts for an alternate home team employee in a Master Rotation and you perform the publish action, the gap between those shifts is displayed under the employee's original home team. The gap is not displayed under the alternate team used during rotation creation.
Custom employee DB lookup behavior
By default, alternate home team is supported when you use the core or out-of-the-box employee lookup query. No additional configuration is required. If you customized the employee lookup DB query, you must manually update the query to include alternate home team employees. Use the same process for any other DB lookup query customization.
