Today's Shift widget

The Today’s Shift Widget is a component of the Employee (Frontline) Workspace. It provides shift-based employees with a comprehensive, real-time view of their current day’s shift, including timing, assigned role, and all relevant shift-related information.

Users can view and interact with these elements:
  • Current clocking status: Displays the user's current clocking status using a color-coded icon for quick visual reference.
  • Clock actions: Lists available actions for recording time events.
  • Shift Details: Shows scheduled shift attributes for the current day, including start/end times and break periods.
  • Full shift details: Provides a link to the WFM application for a comprehensive breakdown of the user's shift schedule.
  • Ellipsis menu (): Provides users with additional options:
    • Refresh: Updates the widget display with the latest data.
    • About: Displays information about the widget.
    • Advanced: Opens advanced settings or diagnostics, if enabled.

Current clocking status

Users can view their most recent clocking action and its details through this widget. The widget includes a color-coded clock status indicator that changes based on the user’s action:
  • Green – Clocked In
  • Red – Clocked Out

Clock actions

Users can perform different clock actions within this widget. These actions allow users to log their activities in real time, giving them direct control over their time records. This helps reduce disputes, minimizes administrative workload, and supports transparency and accountability.

See Clock actions in Today’s Shift widget.

Shift Details

Users can view their schedule for the day in the Today’s Shift widget. The schedule includes configurable attributes that determine how shift details are presented. By default, the widget displays the shift’s start and end times.

You can configure additional shift attributes to display in the widget, including:
  • Department
  • Job
  • Project
  • Docket
  • Activity
  • Team

If a shift attribute remains consistent throughout the day, it is displayed beneath the overall shift time. If the shift includes multiple segments or transitions, each is shown with its own start and end time. Transitions are grouped when their attributes match. Otherwise, they are displayed separately.

If no shift is scheduled, a message No scheduled shift is displayed.

If the shift includes time off, for example, half-day or full-day leave, this is shown alongside the shift details, allowing users to identify periods when they are not expected to work.

To view complete shift information, users can click Full shift details, which redirects to the WFM application, where all shift details are available.
