User proxying

Users can temporarily act as other users by signing in as proxies. When a user proxies another, they take on the original user’s identity within the application for a set period. During this time, the proxy can perform transactions on the original user’s behalf.

For example, when Carol takes a week off, Esther proxies her account and assumes her application functions. During that week, Esther can view and modify all of Carol’s application transactions, approves and declines requests, and respond to Carol's email messages.

At any time, Esther can switch between being herself and being Carol. When Esther proxies Carol, the header bar displays that Esther is acting as [CAROL] and Esther’s name appears as a clickable hyperlink. When Esther clicks on this hyperlink, she switches back to her own page.

User proxying requires these steps:

  1. Granting proxy permissions
  2. Becoming another user
  3. Switching back to yourself
Note: By default, the employee’s username is displayed. To display an employee's full name instead of the username when proxying, you must set the value of PROXY_NAME_FORMAT registry parameter to EMP_FULLNAME.

See the Infor Workforce Management User and Administration Library (Multi-tenant) and select Administrator > Registry Parameters > Time and Attendance Registry Parameters > PROXY_NAME_FORMAT.
