Configuring action items for the Activity Center widget

Action items are assigned based on security groups and not on an individual user basis. An action item assigned to a given security group will be visible to all users who belong to that security group.

  1. Select Maintenance > Launch Pads > Launch Pads - Activity Center.
  2. Click Create New Entry or click the Edit link on an existing action item.
  3. Specify this information:
    Name
    The action item name to be displayed in the activity center widget.
    Description
    Optionally, the description of the action item.
    Start Date
    The action item will not be displayed before this date.
    End Date
    The action item will not be displayed after this date.
    Priority
    Determines how action items are ordered with Priority 1 listed at the top followed by priority 2, 3, and so on. If priorities are the same for different action items, the action items are listed in alphabetical order.
    Security Group
    Optionally, determines the security group to which the action item applies. Multiple security groups can be selected for a single action item. If no security group is selected, the action item will not be displayed in the activity center widget for any security group.
    Frequency
    Determines how frequently the action item is to appear: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly.
    Frequency Details
    Determines the days on which the action item is displayed:
    • Daily: Number of days between appearances.
    • Weekly: Number of weeks between appearances and on which day of the week.
    • Monthly: Number of months between appearances, with an option to either select a specific day of the month or a day of the week.
    • Yearly: Number of years between appearances and on which specific month and day.
  4. Click Save.
    Note: To delete an existing action item, click the Edit link on the action item and then click Delete.
