Adding the burst report to a launch pad

Burst reports can be added to launch pads using the Cognos Burst Report widget. This widget displays the report results on the home page of the application for users in security groups specified when creating the launch pad. The results from the most recent execution of the burst report are displayed.

Note:  We recommend that you create, update, and test launch pads in a development or test environment before deploying the launch pads to a production environment. You must be logged in as a system administrator to create and manage launch pads.
  1. Select Maintenance > Launch Pads > Launch Pad Wizard.
  2. Select the Create new Launch Pad option and specify a name and description, or select the Edit Existing Launch Pad option and then select the launch pad you want to edit.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Click Add Content.
  5. Click Add next to the Cognos Burst Report widget.
  6. Click the Edit icon on for the new Cognos Burst Report widget.
  7. Specify the name of the burst report in the Report Name field.
  8. In the Max Height field, specify a number greater than zero.
    The Max Height field determines the maximum amount of vertical space the widget can consume. For this example, specify at least 200 to provide enough space to display the burst report results.
  9. Click Next.
    The burst report results are displayed in the Preview page.
  10. Review the launch pad. If everything is okay, click Next.
  11. Specify the security group for the launch pad and click Save.
  12. Click OK.
    The burst report results are now available on the Launch Pad for the specified security group. Users can view the report results when they open the home page in the application.
