You can create a Master Rotation (MR) for selected team members or for every member of a team.
- Select Scheduling > Multi-view Scheduler > Master Rotation > Manage Master Rotation.
- Click Create New Entry.
- Specify this information:
- Unit

- Sub-unit(s)
- Optionally, select specific sub-units or select ALL to include all sub-units under the selected parent team.
- Include Areas
-

This check box is disabled if specific sub-units are selected. Similarly, you cannot select sub-units if this check box is enabled. Selecting this option disables the Assign Staff buttons and the Job option is selected by default.
- Name
- Specify a name for the MR.
- Description
- Optionally, specify a description of the MR.
- Staffing Requirement Template
-
Optionally, select a Staffing Requirement Templates (SRTs). If selected, the MR uses workload requirements from the chosen SRTs to determine staffing coverage.
Note: You can only select one staffing template per team. Selecting more than one results in an error upon submission. Additionally, a warning appears if you select SRTs with varying effective dates when creating the MR.
- Start Date
- Specify the date for the MR to start.
- End Date
- Specify the end date for the MR.
- Template Length
- Specify the number of days for the rotation. For example, specify 7 to repeat the shift patterns every seven days.
- Determine how to create schedule rows in the MR by selecting one of these options in the Assign Staff section:
- Team
- Select this option to create a schedule row in the MR for every employee in the selected team or unit.
- Individual Employees
- Select this option and specify the employees in the Select Employees field to create a schedule row in the MR for specific employees. By selecting this option, you can select employees from both the selected parent team and its sub-units.
- Jobs
- Select this option to create an MR with a specified number of rows per job.
- See Creating a Master Rotation with number of rows per job.
- If the Team or Individual Employees option is selected, then select the default sorting to apply to rows in the MR in the Employee Sort drop-down menus. Rows can be sorted by Employee Name or Employee ID in Ascending or Descending order.
- If the Team or Individual Employees option is selected, then select the default set of labor metrics for rows in the MR in the Row Costing drop-down menu. Select Employee-based to use labor metrics from each employee's default labor allocation. Select Row-based option to use the labor metrics that are applied to each row.
- Select the Auto Row Naming check box to automatically number rows based on the row order. Clear this check box to allow row names to be updated manually.
- Click Create.
The new Master Rotation is displayed in the MR edit screen where you can design the base rotation for the schedule.
