Cell Options
Use Cell Options to customize how shift cells and employee cells display on the Scheduling screen.
These configurations adjust the schedule layout based on your preferences, whether you focus on detailed information or prefer a broader view of employees and days. Both shift and employee cell settings apply to either Detail View or Compact View.
Shift Cell configuration
Shift cells show details such as roles, activities, and statuses. You can customize the visible information by configuring these elements:
- Primary Attribute: Defines the content in the first row of a shift cell. You can select the Shift label or Start and end time to display here.
-
Secondary Attribute: Controls the second row of the shift cell. It can be hidden or shown. Available options include:
- Start and end time
- Activity
- Job
- Team
- Department
- Docket
- Project
- Shift Description
- Shift Note
- Shift short code
The more attributes displayed, the taller the cell becomes, which may reduce the number of employees visible on screen without scrolling.
A preview section provides a real-time view of how your selections display.
- Status Icons: This is the third element in a shift cell. You can select to:
- Show or hide the icon, which indicates that a shift is posted for relief.
- Show or hide the icon in the Relief Queue using the In Relief Queue check box.
- Cell Width: Controls how much content is visible within each cell. The available options include:
- Narrow - Displays limited details but allows more cells to fit on screen.
- Medium – Offers a balance between detail and visibility.
- Wide – Shows the most information per cell, but fewer cells overall.
Note: With Narrow or Medium widths, some shift details may not fit. Overflowed content appears without ellipses.
- Highlight Color: Helps visually identify key shifts. You can switch between different highlight attributes to emphasize important shift types.
You can assign highlight colors to:
- Shift Label
- Activity
- Shift status
See, Configuring Shift Configuration.
Employee Cell configuration
Employee cells display details related to the assigned employee. You can customize the content in the employee cell by configuring these elements:
- Primary Attribute: Displays the employee name. The employee's name always displays and cannot be modified.
- Optional Attributes: You can select to show or hide additional details within each employee cell. The available options include:
- Avatar
- FTE
- Job
- Rotation
- Cell Width: Similar to the Shift cell configuration, controls how much content is visible within each cell.
Available options include:
- Narrow width reduces column space, allowing more days to be displayed. However, long employee names may be truncated.
- Wide width provides more space, making full names and selected attributes readable.
