Coverage display options

You can change how coverage information is displayed by clicking the grid icon in the coverage panel. You can configure the view of the coverage by selecting one of these options in Display Coverage:

By Grouping

When you select By Grouping, you can compare staffing requirements with workload demand using multiple grouping levels, such as primary and secondary.

For a more detailed coverage breakdown including Position, Day Part, Shift, and Area, you can enable tertiary grouping, which is hidden by default. The option Area in all grouping dropdowns is hidden by default.

This list shows the available grouping parameters:

  • Position: Shows the coverage for positions
  • Day Part: Shows the coverage for day parts
  • Shift: Shows the number of shifts
  • Areas: Shows the coverage for areas
An error message is displayed when there are incorrect grouping selections that occur in these conditions:
  • If the same value is selected for primary, secondary, and tertiary groupings.
  • If the selected value for secondary grouping is None and the tertiary grouping is not None.
  • If Day Part and Shift are both selected in the grouping selections.
  • If Day Part is not selected and By FTE is selected in Display Time field.
  • If Include Area is set to false for the rotation and Area is selected as one of the grouping options.

You can also use the Display Time field, which is only available in By Grouping, to display coverage By Shift, By Hours, or By FTE.

By Time Interval

In By Time Interval, you can view the number of employees scheduled at a specific time in a day or between particular hours. This list shows the time intervals that you can select using the Interval field:

  • 1 hour
  • 2 hours
  • 3 hours
  • 4 hours
  • 6 hours
  • 8 hours
  • 12 hours
The By Time Interval feature uses the time format defined in the Config Locale Time settings. When this feature is enabled, the Display Data By field becomes available. This field enables you to decide how headcounts are calculated. These options are available in the Display Data By field:
  • Shift Count - The system calculates the Headcount as 1 for a specific interval if there is at least a one-minute overlap between the shift and the interval. This option is selected by default.
  • Shift Count (Decimal) - Calculates overlapping shift parts using the interval duration.
For example, if a shift runs from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM:
    • If the interval is set to 2 hours, the value for the 12:00 AM to 2:00 AM segment is 0.5
    • If the interval is set to 1 hour, the value for the 12:00 AM to 1:00 AM segment is 1, and for 1:00 AM to 2:00 AM it is 0.
    • If the interval is set to 4 hours, the value for the 12:00 AM to 4:00 AM segment is 0.25
For a shift that runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM that contains a non-covering workload activity between 1:00 to 2:00 PM:
    • If the interval is set to 4 hours, the value for the 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM segment is 0.75.
    • If the interval is set to 3 hours, the value for the 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM segment is 0.67.

You can access additional information about time formats in the Infor Workforce Management library.

See the Infor Workforce Management User and Administration Library and select Administrator > MVS.

Coverage Filter

Coverage Filter is available for any Display Coverage options. You can specify these attributes to refine coverage:

  • Shift Label: Displays the name of the shift configuration used in the scheduling screen.
  • Shift Type: Indicates the type of the shift. Possible values include ALL, TRAINING, ADMIN, INTERN, TESTING, and RDO.
  • Activity Allocation: Lists activity allocations created in the Activity Allocation form, such as Productive or Non-productive.
Filtering by Activity Allocation includes only shifts containing activities matching the selected activity allocations. This filtering applies these rules depending on how the Total Coverage panel is viewed:
    • By Headcounts: Calculates shifts with at least one segment matching the selected activity allocation. If multiple activity allocations are selected, the headcount is counted only once per shift, even if segments match multiple allocations.
    • By Hours or By FTE: Calculates the total hours of segments with the selected activity allocation. If multiple activity allocations are selected, hours are counted for all matching segments.
  • Shift Color: Represents the shift's font color configured in the shift configuration.
