Priority
Team and job priority also factors into auto-assignment. For instance, if the priorities were as follows:
| Items | Priorities | |
|---|---|---|
| Team A | 1 | |
| Job X | 2 | |
| Job Y | 3 | |
| Team B | 2 | |
| Job X | 2 |
If both Team A and Team B were selected for auto-assignment, the resulting assignment order would be:
| Assignments | Order |
|---|---|
| Team A, Job X | First |
| Team A, Job Y | Second |
| Team B, Job X | Third |
If an employee’s shift pattern is longer than the shift to which the employee is auto-assigned, the remainder of the employee’s shift pattern remains unassigned. For example, if PC Mike is auto assigned to a 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Traffic Duty shift, but his shift pattern is from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM, the assignment is:
- 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Traffic Duty
- 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Unassigned, where the scheduler can assign another job to Mike for the remaining two hours in his shift pattern.
