Installing Xpress-MP

This procedure includes information about third-party applications for convenience. Installation procedures and requirements can change over time. We recommend checking directly with the third-party provider for the most up-to-date information.

  1. Download the TAR file for OS and for 32-bit or 64-bit and copy the TAR file to a location where you have read, write, and run permission.
    For example, the file name would be displayed as such: xp8.14.2_linux_x86_64_setup.tar
  2. Download the license file xpauth.xpr and place it in the same folder where you copied the TAR file.
  3. To extract the files from the TAR archive, specify these commands:
    tar xf xp8.14.2_linux_x86_64_setup.tar
    cd xp8.14.2_linux_x86_64_setup
    Note: Depending on the system on which you are installing, the TAR file could have a slightly different name.
  4. To start the installation script, specify this command:
    ./install.sh
  5. When you are prompted to provide the type of licensing to be used, specify s.
  6. Specify the path to the directory where you are installing Xpress-MP.
    For example, /opt/xpressmp/
  7. Specify n when asked to install Xpress-Kalis.
  8. Specify y when asked whether you received license file from Support.
  9. When prompted, specify the full path of the directory where the license file is located.
  10. Specify y when asked whether to copy the license file.
  11. Specify y when asked whether to add the Xpress installation paths to the .bashrc file.
  12. Navigate to the directory where you installed XPress-MP and run this command:
    ./bin/xpvars.sh
