File Encryption Using the PGP Library
WFM provides the ability to import files that are encrypted using a WFM generated PGP public key and supported third-party encryption tools that support PGP (Pretty Good Privacy). WFM can decrypt the encrypted import files using the PGP libraries. During import the files are decrypted with a master key that is encrypted and stored in the WFM database.
The WFM import mechanism does not decrypt files as a whole during the import process. After the import is completed successfully, the file found in the OLD
folder will be encrypted. You also have the option of keeping the file generated in the BAD
folder encrypted in case of any system failures during import.
For more information, see Importing an Encrypted File into WFM and "Adding import tasks to the Job Scheduler" in the Infor Workforce Management Interfaces Administration Guide.
WFM also provides the ability to encrypt the files exported from WFM using a PGP public key that you provide. A third-party encryption tool is required to generate the PGP public key and decrypt the file exported from WFM.
