Payroll Based Journal Export for CMS

As part of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requires long-term care facilities to report direct care staffing information based on payroll information. To this end, the CMS has developed the Payroll Based Journal (PBJ) system to collect this information. This report is used to export the employee staffing information and hours required by CMS directly from the system. The PBJ pulls hours for the Time Code with the Is Productive check box selected.

See the Infor Workforce Management User and Administration Library (Multi-tenant) and select Administrator > Time and Attendance > Time and Attendance Implementation > Payroll settings > Time codes.

This process outputs a Workmail message with an Excel formatted report for verification and an XML formatted report that is used to upload to the PBJ system.

To successfully run this report and obtain valid output, you must firs configure MVS.

See the Infor Workforce Management User and Administration Library (Multi-tenant) and select Administrator > MVS > Configuring MVS for the Payroll Based Journal Export for CMS report.
