Using the Relief Calling Area
The Relief Calling Area is used to assign employees to shifts, you can access this for a shift that has already been broadcasted. During the assignment process, you can contact the employee and record their responses.
You can view and sort a read-only version of the latest employee call list and use this list to manually assign the shift in third-party scheduling applications similar to Vocantas.
This topic assumes you are already on the Relief Queue.
- Select the shift to send to relief, then select Offer Shifts.
- Click Ok.
- On the Relief Calling Area page, click +.
- Select a preset in the Preset field to apply the employee criteria selections.
- If no preset is available or selected, specify this information:
- Call List Member

Specify a call list member to filter employees based on predefined lists.
Only call lists linked to teams offering relied shifts are displayed in this field. For example, if the CARDIO and ICU teams offer shifts, only their associated call lists are available.
- Call List Shift Type
- This field auto-populates with offered shifts when call lists are pre-filled, but is disabled when filtering by teams or employees.
- Teams
- Select either Home team to include employees from their primary team or Non-Home team to include employees outside their home team.
- Employee
- Specify the employee name to filter specific individuals.
- Show Shift History

Select this check box to allow viewing the full history of actions and changes for a specific shift.
When enabled, the shift label becomes a clickable link to its history.
- Jobs
- Filter the employees by job role.
- Associated Jobs
- Select this check box to include employees with associated jobs in the filter.
- Skills

Filter employees based on selected skills.
Select the Require All Skills check box to include only employees who possess all specified skills. Clear the check box to include employees who possess at least one of the listed skills.
- Work Type
- Specify the type of employment to filter employees. Select either Part Time, Casual, or Flex.
- Availability

Select one or more of these availability settings:
- Available: Shows employees who are available for the entire duration of all offered shifts.
- Partial Available: Shows employees who have explicit availability for part of the offered shifts. For example, when offering multiple relief shifts together, this option returns employees who are available for at least part of one of the shifts.
- Unavailable: Shows employees who are explicitly unavailable for all of the offered shifts.
- Partial Unavailable: Shows employees who have no explicit availability, and have explicit unavailability for part of the offered shifts.
- Unknown: Shows employees without availability information for all of the offered shifts.
If left blank, all employees who match the filter criteria are returned regardless of availability.
- Schedule is Compliant
- Select this check box to include only employees whose schedule complies with defined rules.
- Scheduled
- Select either Scheduled During Shift, Scheduled On Day, or Non-Scheduled During Shift.
- Sort Order
- Specify the order in which employees are displayed in the Employee Pool panel.
- Calc Group
- Specify a calculation group for filtering employees.
- Enable Schedule Compliance
- Select this check box to enable compliance checks for employee schedules.
- Display Shift-Based Availability
- Select this check box to display availability based on shifts.
- Shift Types & Day Parts
- Specify employees by shift types and day parts.
Note: All fields in this section are optional. Specify only the filters you prefer to narrow down employee selection. - Click Refresh to update the Employee Pool list.
- Select the shifts to assign to an employee in the Employee Pool panel. Hover over a shift to view details about the shift, including the start time, end time, shift type, etc.
- Select the quick link icon:
- Accept All: Accepts all your selected shifts.
- Open Employee Call Pop-up: Accepts each of your selected shifts individually or in groups.

- Click OK to confirm the assignments.
The selected shifts are assigned to the specified employees.
