Create a new database connection

  1. From the Select Action (Home) page, select any Migration Tool action item.
  2. Click Next to go to the Connect to Database page.
  3. From the Source Database or Destination Database drop-down list, select Create New.
  4. Click Define.
  5. Complete the following fields in the Database Details window:
    Data Source Name
    Specify the data source name.
    Database Type
    Specify the application database server type.
    Database User
    Specify the database user name. The user name provided should include database administration privileges.
    Server Name
    Specify the name of the server where the application database server is installed.
    Port Number
    Specify the port number where the application database server is configured.
    Database Name
    Specify the application database name.
  6. Click OK to save the new database connection settings.
    The new database connection now appears in both the Source Database and Destination Database drop-down lists.
